A FATHER-of-two allegedly sexually attacked a schoolboy after the man swam naked and showed him porn, a jury was told.

Burnley Crown Court heard claims that Kevin O’Connell asked the alleged victim about his sexual experiences and exposed himself.

He allegedly performed a sex act on the teenager but the boy did not tell his family what had gone on.

The hearing was told how a couple of months later, the schoolboy's father thought something was wrong with his son and took him for a drive.

Prosecutor Elizabeth Nicholls told the court: “The father threatened to cause a car accident, maybe killing both of them, if his son didn't tell him what was wrong. It was at that stage that the alleged victim told his father he had been sexually abused by Kevin O'Connell.”

O'Connell, now 65, of Long Causeway, Cliviger, denies indecent assault on a male person, said to have taken place more than a decade ago.

Miss Nicholls told the jury O' Connell was said to have gone swimming without any clothes on and suggested the alleged victim do the same. O’Connell was swimming with a snorkel.

The teenager felt a little uncomfortable but nothing physically happened in the pool.

The defendant then got into a jacuzzi and was asking the alleged victim about his sexual experiences.

The prosecutor said: "He was a little uncomfortable with the questions he was being asked, but again nothing physical took place."

Miss Nicholls claimed that later, the defendant had some porn on a computer, got the teenager to look at it with him and was talking about threesomes.

O’Connell went on to allegedly indecently assault the teenager, who by that time was feeling anxious.

The schoolboy later spoke to a girl around the same age as him and told her what had allegedly happened, but swore her to secrecy as he did not want anybody to know.

He eventually told his father he had been 'abused' but again wanted nothing to be done about it.

The prosecutor said no complaint was made to the police until November 2012 when the alleged victim went to the police.

Miss Nicholls said: "The defendant was only interviewed the following May and during the course of that interview, this defendant denied that he had ever sexually abused the alleged victim as described by him or at all.”
