A MAN is appearing in court on dangerous dog charges following the mauling of a Blackburn baby.
Lee Wright, will appear at Blackburn Magistrates following the death of Ava-Jayne Corless in February.
The 27-year-old of Emily Street, Blackburn has been charged with having the custody of a fighting dog contrary to the Dangerous Dogs Act and conspiracy to supply cannabis.
He will appear on Friday July 4. The 21-year-old woman from Blackburn who had previously been bailed in relation to this matter has been released no further action.
Emergency services were called to Emily Street in Blackburn after reports that 11-month-old Ava-Jayne Corless had been injured by a dog.
She was taken to the Royal Blackburn Hospital where she died.
