PICKPOCKETS who struck twice in Blackburn town centre are being hunted. Officers want to talk to two women captured on CCTV moments before the incident.

The thieves loitered around banks in Blackburn and saw the victims withdraw large sums of money from inside the bank, police said.

They then followed the victims and distracted them before stealing the cash.

The first offence happened at around 3pm on Tuesday, May 27 when the victim withdrew £2,500 from the Halifax Bank King William Street, Blackburn.

The offenders followed the victim through Blackburn Town Centre, stealing the money from his pocket when he was distracted.

The second theft happened on Friday, June 6 at about 2pm when the victim withdrew £1,500 from Barclays Bank on King William Street and then had the money stolen.The thieves are described as women, aged in their mid 20s, possibly Eastern European, with one wearing a distinctive red head scarf.
