CLASSIC television sitcom ’Allo ’Allo has been given a makeover for a stint at Pendle’s Hippodrome Theatre.
Final dress rehearsals have taken place at the Colne venue ahead of the opening performance tonight. The adaptation of the innuendo-laden Second World War comedy runs nightly until Saturday.
The New Market Street theatre’s own company is producing the show, based on original BBC scripts by Jeremy Lloyd and David Croft.
A spokesman for the theatre said: “Amid all the dropped trousers, compromising positions and flashes of suspenders come such old and unsubtle lines as: ‘I shall disappear up your back passage’ and ‘Do you want a cockatoo?’ Tickets at £7 are available online or at Discover Pendle, Boundary Mill Stores, Colne.
