COMMUNITY groups in Lancashire are being urged to bid for a share of a £10,000 cash pot launched today to celebrate a housing association’s 10th anniversary.

Contour Homes already supports a whole range of projects, including work clubs to help people find jobs, schemes to help residents grow their own fruit and veg, and activities for young people.

But today the social landlord launches ‘Cash for Communities’ with the aim of helping even more residents to run projects that make their neighbourhoods better places to live.

‘Cash for Communities’ will see £10,000 given away to community projects in Contour neighbourhoods between now and the end of March 2015.

Sums of between £500 and £2,000 will be awarded to groups, including those in Blackburn and Chorley, whose activities support one or more of four themes drawn up by Contour Homes, including job, training and enterprise opportunities, community spaces, health initiatives or community sports projects, activities for young people, and helping people to get online or make their money go further.”

The first deadline for applications is July 31. More information and application forms are available at www.contourhomes.co.uk or by emailing Community Investment Officer Steph Hodgson at Stephanie.hodgson@contourhomes.co.uk
