A BODY has been found in the search for missing Accrington man Trevor Whitehead.
The body was found by a member of the public at shortly before 2pm on Saturday afternoon (May 31st) near to Belthorn.
While formal identification has yet to take place at this stage the body is sadly believed to be that of Trevor.
The death is not being treated as suspicious at this stage although a post mortem examination will be carried out to establish the exact cause of death.
His family have been informed and specially trained officers are offering support to them.
Mr Whitehead, 51, was last seen in his home town of Accrington on the evening of Wednesday 9 April 2014, however he failed to show up to work and there had been no contact with his family since that time.
