THE boss of Bacup firm BETA Group has praised workers for hitting sales targets.

The filtration and engineering services company, based at Underbank Mill, in Burnley Road, sent 11 members of office staff on a weekend break to Spain as a reward for the its recent success.

Managing director and founder Martin Lewis said: “I am delighted to have been able to send our sales team on a bit of a ‘thank you’ trip to Palma recently.

“We’ve got a cracking bunch of staff and it’s a nice way to say thank you for hitting their sales target.’’ General manager Dave Meehan added: “It’s fantastic that we are able to offer our team the opportunity to celebrate their success together, outside of the work environment.

“Everyone has worked hard to achieve the company goal, and the trip is thoroughly deserved.”

The group visited Palma, in Majorca, and enjoyed an open-top bus tour and a visit to Palma Cathedral.

Last October, Beta Group, acquired the trade and certain assets of Stockton-on-Tees firm Spraytherm.

The undisclosed deal is thought to have added an extra £250,000 to Beta Group’s £5m turnover.
