FUNDS raised by a charity and a school’s campaign will help thousands of British children.

Tauheedul Islam Boys High School (TIBHS) and the Tauheedul Relief Trust have been working in partnership with Save the Children.

Funds raised by the trust and a recent £3,000 boost from TIBHS will tackle child poverty and deprivation in the UK.

Chair of Governors and vice-chair of the Tauheedul Trust Mo Isap said: “We recognise there are four million children growing up in poverty in Britain. Our vision is to raise their plight across our network of schools and support them through our community service and education programme.”

Save the Children’s head of England, John Lambert, said: “We’re hugely impressed by the pupils of Tauheedul Boys’ School for their ongoing support. The pupils’ efforts are tremendous.

“Save the Children’s Eat Sleep Learn Play programme offers families living through hard times support in the UK.

“We know everyday items can be expensive for families in poverty and help those facing difficult times to make sure that their children have the basics they need to eat, sleep, learn and play at home.”
