SWIMMERS are being urged to dive in to the country’s biggest open water event and raise money in aid of vulnerable children and young people.

The Great North Swim takes place from June 13-15 on Lake Windermere and leading charity Action for Children is calling for East Lancashire residents to sign up.

Helen Noble, fundraiser at Action for Children in Lancashire, said: “This unique event gives swimmers of all abilities the opportunity to experience open water swimming in a safe environment, take in the breath-taking surroundings of Lake Windermere and raise money in aid of vulnerable children, young people and families.”

Money raised will go to support Action for Children services across Lancashire which work at the heart of the local communities offering advice and support for a wide range of issues facing families to make their lives easier, healthier and happier.

With half mile, one mile, two mile and five kilometre courses available, swimmers of all abilities can make a splash and raise some cash for charity.
