SOCIAL housing tenants can take advantage of a new furniture recycling store opened by the Together Housing Group.
The ReUse Together centre has opened at Glenfield Business Park in Blackburn and will sell new and pre-owned goods at low prices.
It will sell items ranging from furniture, electrical goods, beds, mattresses, carpet tiles, white goods and swathes of fabric.
The centre, opened by Blackburn MP Jack Straw, will also give volunteers and apprentices the chance to work alongside mentors to teach them new skills.
Glen Finch, head of community regeneration, said: “These are very difficult times, but we are offering a low-cost solution to people wanting to furnish their homes or trying to get rid of unwanted items.
“Lots of people will have unwanted reusable furniture, and we’d love to hear from them.
“We can collect, sell it on at a low price and give someone help in furnishing their new home.
“All the money generated is then put back into running the enterprise and collecting more stock to be sold on.”
