ROCK band Lawson has signalled its support for Teenage Cancer Trust fundraising at their landmark gig in Burnley this weekend.

The Lancashire Telegraph revealed yesterday how fans attending their Sunday UCLan gig, and the Burnley Rock and Blues Festival this weekend, could donate money to the Stephen Sutton Fund.

More than £3.1million has already been raised in support of the terminally-ill Staffordshire teenager for the trust after his cause received nationwide publicity. And Lawson said on Twitter, in advance of the gig: ‘See us live at UCLAN Burnley and help support an incredibly worthwhile cause.’ Band member are ambassadors for the cancer trust and festival organisers have worked with the trust now for three years.

Concert promoter Steve Reid, of Doc Redeye Events, added: “We're thrilled the band are to appear in Burnley. It's a real coup for the town and it's fantastic that they are supporting the Teenage Cancer Trust.”
