A BURGLAR who stole an Audi A6 car after breaking into a house in Rossendale has been given a chance to reform by a Burnley Crown Court judge.

Judge Jonathan Gibson heard that Robert Matthew MacIntosh, 22, of St Matthew’s Street, Burnley, was serving a 40-month sentence for three house raids.

But MacIntosh had also now admitted breaking into Bridleway House, in Newbigging Avenue, Waterfoot, before the trio of break-ins.

Judge Gibson jailed MacIntosh for 10 months after he also pleaded guilty to the car theft.

The court heard that this would not interfere with the defendant’s planned release date in October.

The judge said he hoped MacIntosh would take the opportunity to rehabilitate himself while on licence from prison.
