WORK has started on the demolition of a Blackburn high school.
The old high school building of St Bede’s in Livesey Branch Road is set to be demolished after work began yesterday.
In September 2013, St Bede’s moved into its new state-of-the-art home at the school’s site in Green Lane, leaving the old buildings on the adjacent street.
St Bede’s was one of eight high schools to open new buildings under the multi-million pound Building Schools for the Future programme.
The new school includes ultra-modern IT suites and science labs, landscaped grounds, new dining facilities and contemporary design outside and inside the school.
