A HOUSE raider who was spared jail got lucky again after flouting the order he was given, because he is working.

Ryan Williams, 24, had been facing prison for failing to turn up for probation, but was given a last chance.

Burnley Crown Court had earlier been told Williams burgled a house in Victoria Road, Padiham, at night and was confronted by the victim at 1.30am.

When the householder found him, he said:”You owe me some money.” The victim took hold of the defendant, who had told him menacingly: “I wouldn't do that if I were you.”

The hearing was told Williams, a qualified electrician, had lost his job through drink and had then become a burglar.

The defendant, of Lowerhouse Lane, Burnley, had admitted burglary last August and had been given 15 months in prison, suspended for two years, with two years’ supervision and 200 hours’ unpaid work.

He was back in the dock to admit breaching the order.
