A MOTORCYCLIST and a car driver were taken to hospital after colliding in Bolton Road, Blackburn, this morning.
The female motorcyclist was involved in a collision with a Vauxhall Astra at the traffic lights at the Aqueduct Road junction, near the Empire Theatre, at around 8am.
Traffic queued back along the A666 while the road was closed until 10am as police cleared debris and investigated.
Inspector Bob Eaton, of Lancashire Police, said the incident at first looked more serious than it turned out to be.
He said: “The motorcyclist wasn’t moving when we first got there, but she was conscious and breathing.
“She was taken to Royal Blackburn Hospital to check on minor injuries to her left handside.
“The driver of the Astra also went for a check-up.”
