BURNLEY’S promotion to the Premier League has been celebrated by a group of Claret-wearing youngsters in South Africa.

Children from the Otter Project, in Cape Town, donned their Burnley shirts on Easter Monday as the Clarets beat Wigan to secure a return to the top flight.

The youngsters have become keen Burnley fans following donations of old kits by the Clarets Trust to the Ottery Youth Care Centre in the South African city.

Moosa Mahadick, from the centre, this week sent a message of support to the club through Peter Pike, president of the Clarets Trust.

Moosa said: “I’m really excited and our boys are really chuffed because we are always playing in Burnley colours and wear our jerseys with pride.”
