A MAN who breached his anti-social behaviour order for the second time has been spared an immediate prison sentence.
David Newton, of Victoria Street, Ramsbottom, was given his first ASBO (Anti-social behaviour order) in 2011, after causing trouble in Ramsbottom town centre.
The 44-year-old was given a second order last October, at Bury Magistrates’ Court, which banned him from playing music and entering certain shops and pubs in the town.
A month later, Newton annoyed his neighbours by playing loud music and also used foul language to staff at Morrison’s supermarket, which resulted in him serving a 16-week jail term.
Newton appeared back before the bench last week when he admitted breaching the ASBO by being drunk in public and playing loud music.
He was sentenced to two months in prison, suspended for a year, and the magistrates also imposed a 12-month supervision order.
