POLICE officers and Community Road Watch volunteers in Billington caught five people speeding through the Ribble Valley village yesterday.

The speed checks were being carried out in Whalley Road from 9am to 10am.

Another motorist was caught not wearing a seat belt.

The check is part of an on-going road watch scheme which involves officers monitoring various areas throughout the borough.

Wonder if the filth ever caught the scum who nicked my caravan ?
I guess not because they were either too busy stealing money from motorists just trying to get from A to B in a reasonable time or else they would have been frightened of tackling caravan thieves in case they were Irish travellers and the old bill are renowned for not nicking anyone who is even remotely suspected of being of an ethnic minority in case allegations of " racial prejudice " affect their careers.
And as for " Community Road watch Volunteers " - read " middle-class, middle-aged busybodies with two much time on their hands and nothing better to do ".
I hope you all get the plague.

Hope your kids never get injured by speeding motorist. Cars travel through Langho and Billington at high speed, and vry often when school children are arriving and leaving school. Lets have more checks to slow culprits down.
