A WOMAN had to be cut from her car after a collision in Blackburn.

The crash, which involved another vehicle, happened in Bolton Road, near the Lockside Tavern, around 2.45pm yesterday.

Police said firefighters were called after the woman complained of neck pain, meaning she could not be freed from her black Ford Fusion immediately.

A spokesman said: “There was a female who was conscious and breathing, but complaining of neck pain.

“We held off with the recovery for a while as a precautionary measure.

“The firefighters were called as we needed the roof removing from the vehicle.”

The woman was taken to Royal Blackburn Hospital by paramedics.
