A WINE bar in Great Harwood has applied for permission to host live music.
Baggy’s Wine Bar, in Glebe Street, wants to play live and recorded music until 12.30am from Sunday to Thursday and 2.30am on Friday and Saturdays.
It is currently allowed to play recorded music until 11.30pm during the week and until 1am on weekends.
It has not applied to stay open or to serve alcohol for longer than is currently allowed.
Three letters of objection have been received.
One resident said they would ‘stand with banners and shout of my objection’ if need be, and said the effect of any changes would be ‘far from amusing or entertaining.’
The bar operator has told the council it wants to bring its entertainment into line with other premises in Hyndburn.
The matter will be discussed by councillors on Tuesday, April 29.
