A TEENAGE girl has been taken to hospital after she was hit by a car.
The girl was walking in Longsight Road, Copster Green, when she was hit by a Mitsubishi Carisma at around 10.30am today.
The road was closed in both directions following the accident, causing delays for motorists.
The girl, who is in her late teens, was taken to Royal Blackburn Hospital, which was put on standby for her arrival.
The busy A road has a speed camera close to the scene of the crash, which happened between Park Gate Road and Ribchester Road.
It was reopened at 11.15am.
Nobody was arrested in connection with the accident, a police spokesman said.
