ALLEYGATES could be installed on a back street in Brierfield in a bid to reduce anti-social behaviour.
Pendle Council is seeking funding of £1,600 from the local area committee to installed the gates in Reedley Road.
Neil Yates, from Pendle Council’s engineering and special projects department, said: “Residents of Reedley Road (Nos 13 to 27) have been experiencing various anti-social behavioural and trespassing issues to the rear of their properties, particularly residents of neighbouring streets using their gardens as a shortcut between Garsdale Avenue and Reedley Road.
“It is proposed to install alleygates at the rear of No. 13 and the gable end of No. 27 Reedley Road that would act as a deterrent to these activities taking place."
