EQUINE charity HAPPA, based in Briercliffe, in Burnley, has been nominated as charity of the year in a well-known industry magazine.
The Horses and Ponies Protection Association, based at Shores Hey Farm, in Black House Lane, off Halifax Road, is one of 19 groups on the shortlist for a cash injection from Horse and Hound.
The organisation’s development officer Julie Rickwood-Gan said: “The need for HAPPA’s services is greater than ever and, during the changes in the economic climate, we have seen donations fall. The financial lump sum awarded to the winner would make a significant difference to our work, and the equines in our care.”
Voting closes at noon on Wednesday, April 9, on the magazine’s website.
