ROSSENDALE fashion designer Henry Holland has teamed up with ice cream brand Magnum to create a dress inspired by the sweet treat.

The designer has created a one-off sixties-inspired dress to celebrate the ice cream brand’s 25th birthday.

The Ramsbottom-born designer has followed in the footsteps of other iconic designers, including Karl Lagerfeld and Zac Posen, who have previously designed ice cream-inspired clothes.

Holland said: “Magnum has done some amazing fashion partner-ships, so when I was approached about the project, it seemed like a really exciting opportunity.

“Plus, the prospect of free Magnums didn’t hurt!”

Holland, 30, has worked with a number of famous models, including his good friend, former Bacup and Rawtenstall Grammar School pupil turned supermodel Agness Deyn. Using ice cream as his inspiration, Holland created the collared dress using layered fabric discs to look like cracked chocolate.

The style took the designer around two to three months to produce, and is worth £5,000.

He said: “I’ve never worked in brown before, but the style of the dress fits in with my general aesthetic.

“I was able to be more elaborate with the embellishment techniques, which was fun.”

A model of the dress was also made entirely out of chocolate, equal to the amount of chocolate found on 833 Magnum Classic ice creams.

It took a team of three expert chocolatiers more than 100 hours to create the model.
