BURNLEY Mechanics Theatre is now selling Pendleside beer on tap to raise money for the hospice.

Reedley Hallows Brewery has created the real ale, and promised to give a contribution from sales to Pendleside Hospice.

For every pint sold at the Mechanics, the council will give 20p to Pendleside Hospice.

Mark Dempsey, hospitality and catering manager at the Mechanics, said: “We thought this was a great way to raise money for a local cause that’s close to many people’s hearts.

“It’s a great beer and I’d encourage people to look out for the Pendleside pump with the hospice logo on it at the bar and try a taste.”

John Shuttleworth, the brewery’s sales development manager, said: “Pendleside Hospice is such a valuable local cause and we thought we’d do what we can to help raise money for it.

“We came up with a lovely light four per cent beer with hints of tropical fruits and a spicy aftertaste to add to the rest of our range.”
