LIBERAL Democrat councillor Karimeh Foster has blasted Labour colleagues who failed to attend a consultation event about a firm’s expansion plans.

As reported in the Lancashire Telegraph on Monday, Herbert Parkinson in Monton Road is poised to submit a planning application for an expansion that could create 30 new jobs. The firm, which supplies textile products to John Lewis, invited councillors and council officials to a consultation event on Tuesday ahead of a public consultation last night. Coun Foster said: “They want to talk to councillors and get their advice but only me and Roy Davies turned up. There was nobody from the Labour Party. I think it’s a disgrace.”
