Telegraph man Chris raises £300 for Haslingden charity

A LANCASHIRE Telegraph reporter has raised more than £300 for a Haslingden charity after completing the Liverpool Half-Marathon.
Chris Adams, 25, finished Sunday’s 13.1-mile course in one hour, 42 minutes and 21 seconds.
So far, supporters have pledged £312 to the Sophie Lancaster Foundation, based in Deardengate, which tackles hate crime through educational visits to school.
Sophie’s mum, Sylvia, set up the charity after Sophie was beaten to death in Stubbylee Park, Bacup, in 2007 because she was dressed in Gothic clothing.
Mr Adams said: “I initially had a target of £100 but I revised that to £300 quite quickly and we’ve beaten that target too.
“I’ve been lucky enough to see Black Roses, the play based on Sophie’s murder, twice in the last month and heard Kate Conboy-Greenwood and Sylvia from the charity talk to people afterwards.
“It really helped hit home how important their work is and I’m delighted to be able to contribute something towards that.”
