EAST Lancashire Euro-MP Paul Nuttall has reacted angrily to reports that the European Commission is to take Britain to court over limits on benefits payments to migrants.
The lawsuit centres on the ‘right to reside’ test that European Union migrants must pass before they can claim benefits in the UK which will be lodged ‘shortly’ in the European Court of Justice.
UKIP deputy leader Mr Nuttall said: “They are at it again, telling the UK what it can and cannot do. We must put a stop to this and the only way we can properly safeguard British taxpayers’ money is by leaving the EU.
“Migrants should not be able to take from our generous benefits system without first paying into it.”
