A ‘VULNERABLE’ mother-of-six led into trouble by her then-boyfriend when they stole from a man has got a helping hand from a judge.
Roxanne Ibbotson, 29, had been involved with prolific crook and ex-drug addict Scott Parker when the victim’s CD player, amplifier and speakers were stolen.
Parker, 36, then made ‘nasty threats’ to the man, who was locked in his own home, Burnley Crown Court heard.
Ibbotson, who is now pregnant again, was said to be desperate for help.
Judge Beverley Lunt told her: “I’m here to protect the public. But if the way to protect the public is by helping you, then that’s fine.”
Ibbotson, of Oak Street, Colne, admitted theft and was given a nine-month community order with supervision.
Parker, of Clayton Street, Colne, was previously jailed for 13 months after admitting theft and intimidation charges.
The court heard Ibbotson had memory problems since suffering a head injury and was vulnerable to a man like Parker.
