A MARKETING whizz from Burnley has been ‘hired’ by one of Lord Sugar’s former Apprentice candidates.
David Walker, managing director of +24 Marketing, will work with one of the TV show’s 2013 semi-finalists, Neil Clough, to help him launch his new consultancy firm.
Mr Walker, a former Nelson and Colne College student, opened the +24 Marketing office in Northbridge House, at Elm Street Business Park, Daneshouse, last year.
The venture will also see Mr Clough’s business, NWC Consultancy, launch an Apprentice-style competition to give other North West business start-ups the chance to win £10,000-worth of business support.
Mr Walker, who also attended West Craven High Technology College, Barnoldswick, now employs four staff in Burnley — including his mum, Alexandra.
They helped create NWC Consultancy’s website and online marketing strategy.
Mr Walker said: “I’m delighted to be working with Neil, both to create his site and online sales strategy and support him in his business venture.
“The award is a fantastic way to recognise a small business in the region and this is a strong client to add to our portfolio. I’m passionate about rewarding entrepreneurs so this is a great way to combine business and pleasure.”
Mr Clough said: “It was clear when we met that David and I shared the same drive and ethos.”
