BLACKBURN with Darwen council’s spending on major transport projects has been set at £4.1 million for 2014/2015.
The borough’s executive board approved the final figure last week. It agreed £2.3 million for starting, continuing or completing schemes including the Haslingden Road Growth Corridor, the Freckleton Street Link Road, and the East Darwen corridor. The remaining £1.8 million will be spent on maintenance and improvement schemes, including tackling potholes, replacing and upgrading street lighting, and repairing bridges and culverts.
