It comes after earlier figures showed the school was in the top ten per cent for their academic performance in their A level results.

The school said the latest success with vocational subjects was down to hard work across the board from staff and students.

Deputy headteacher Gill Smith said: “As a school we know how well our students achieve, but this external recognition is a fantastic endorsement.

“It acknowledges the hard work put in by students, their supportive parents and our staff who set high standards and encourage students to achieve their best.

“As a school we are very proud to be among the best in the country for advanced vocational results.”

Headteacher Mark Jackson said: “It is a credit to all our staff and pupils who have worked so hard. To see that they are some of the highest achievers in the country is a very welcome reward for all their effort.

“We know that we are doing very well as a school and we are happy with our results. We are thrilled that our vocational students have gained this recognition.”
