PUPILS are helping to plant 300 trees at schools across the borough.
The Big Tree Plant will see pupils at 25 schools in Hyndburn help plant the trees and to care for them later.
Hyndburn Tree Wardens chair, Jane Eccles, said: “Children and staff at all our schools are very excited about the project, and many are taking advantage of the initiative to expand their own green projects.
“The project uses native trees sourced from local nurseries, and we have done a lot of groundwork with the schools to supplement their ongoing veg growing projects, providing fruit trees as well as other species .”
The project is being managed by Woody.
