UPDATE: Police hunting gang after Blackburn burglaries

Lancashire Telegraph: Police hunting car believed to have been used in Blackburn burglaries Police hunting car believed to have been used in Blackburn burglaries

A GANG of men believed to have been involved in two attempted burglaries in Blackburn earlier today are thought to be in the Egerton area.

Properties in Lambeth Street and Winston Road in Blackburn were targeted by the three men, who police believe are of Eastern European or Asian heritage, at around noon.

Within 15 minutes, officers took to social networking site Facebook to appeal for help in finding the gang’s getaway vehicle, a black or dark grey BMW.

An update on the Blackburn and Darwen Police site said the car was possibly a One Series, with a registration that starts with YT06, and appealed for residents to check their CCTV cameras for full registrations or images of the offenders.

A police spokesman said nothing was taken during the burglaries, which were being treated as linked.

A dark coloured BMW One Series was later seen speeding round the Egerton area, driving erratically and overtaking over vehicles at around 2.20pm, the spokesman added.

If you have any information, or witness suspicious activity, call police on 101.
