NOMINATIONS are being taken for Lancashire’s ‘hall of fame’.

The appeal for suggestions of the great and good of the county is part of a VisitEngland campaign to highlight the best the country has to offer.

Submissions will be taken in the categories of the great, the good and the notorious, inventions and discoveries, food and drink, history and heritage, culture and entertainment and sport and leisure.

Ruth Connor, chief executive of Marketing Lancashire, said: “For Lancashire to feature in VisitEngland’s hall of fame we need residents and visitors to add examples of the many great achievements, unique landmarks and icons of Lancashire culture.

“There is so much to celebrate and share about Lancashire.”

To make a suggestion, go to the website at www.englandshalloffame.com before March 23.

The winners will be announced on St George’s Day, April 23.
