CELEBRITY Clarets fans will be glued to their TVs tomorrow as Burnley bid to break their derby hoodoo.

It is almost 35 years since the Clarets last tasted victory in an East Lancashire derby, but a win tomorrow will move them a step closer to a return to the Premier League.

Dave Fishwick, local businessman and star of Channel 4 series Bank of Dave, said: “I have been invited to watch the game but instead I’m going to be watching it at home with a mate with a couple of drinks.

“Had it not been on TV I would have gone in the box, but I can have just as much fun at home.

“I’ve got Burnley and Blackburn fans that work for me and there is a lot of banter and fun flying across the desk.

“It just shows that the two sets of fans can have a laugh about it without there being any trouble.”

TV weatherman and keen Claret John Kettley said he will be watching the game at home in Lincolnshire.

“I’ll be keeping a safe distance and watching it on TV,” he said.

“I was at the Derby game last week but I can’t make this one. I would take a draw. Blackburn will be like a wounded animal after last week’s result at Bolton.

“Our home form is excellent and if we can keep drawing away and winning at home then we will be promoted.”

Former Emmerdale star Richard Moore, who was born in Burnley but now lives in Cornwall, said: “I will be glued to the TV at home.

“It’s a great chance to end that run without a win. It is always a big game against Blackburn but we are having a great season.

“I know a few Burnley fans in Cornwall, my local post office in run by a Burnley fan from Accrington.”

Meanwhile Burnley fans will be tuning in from around the world.

A group of Clarets fans based in Melbourne, Australia, will be watching the game in the Charles Dickens Tavern, a popular haunt for live football, with several Rovers fans also likely to watch the match, which will kick off at 11.30pm local time, in the bar.

Several fans are also making long-distance treks to get back for the crucial Ewood Park derby.

Clarets fans in Gutersloh, in Germany, Murcia, in Spain, and Burgas, in Bulgaria, will be jetting in for the occasion.

Slightly closer to home fans are also making a special effort to be at the match from the Isle of Man and Belfast.
