POLICE are appealing for information after a boy was offered a lift home as he walked from school in Colne.
At around 3.50pm on Thursday the nine-year-old boy was approached by a man in a black car or van in Trawden Road.
The man is described as white, aged around 35 with short brown hair.
Sgt Shaun Pearson said: “It is possible that someone may have offered the boy a lift home after being concerned about the distance he was walking.
“If this is the case I would urge this person to come forward so we can put parents minds at ease.
“We understand that people may be alarmed and concerned about this incident and we would like to reassure people that we take reports like this seriously and that they are being thoroughly investigated.
“Neighbourhood policing officers have been, and will continue to be in the area, and parents are reminded to be vigilant at all times.”
