A KEEN gardener has died after collapsing in a park.

Peter Bullock was airlifted to Blackpool Victoria Hospital after he suffered a suspected heart attack while walking in Sough Park, near Earby, on Sunday.

Peter, who was in his 70s, had been heavily involved in the Earby and District Gardeners Society for a number of years. Town councillor Vera Cocker said: “Peter was very outgoing and he loved walking. He was often out walking with his wife Dorothy looking at orchids. He had enjoyed life to the full since he retired and this has come as a dreadful, dreadful shock. He was very well known and very well liked and we are going to miss him terribly.

“He did an awful lot with the gardeners’ society and organised a lot of events for them. If there was a church fete or other events he would organise it so the gardeners had a display or a stall there.”
