A 'DRUNKEN' pedestrian was reported to be walking near the M65.
Officers from the North West Motorway Policing Group searched for the person near junction eight for the A56 and Clitheroe this morning.
Speed signals were set in the area and drivers were urged to take caution.
After a search, police said they could find no trace of the pedestrian.
A spokesman for the North West Motorway Policing Group reminded residents it was an offence to walk on the motorway and those that do could be fined £50.
