BLACKBURN Rovers fans are hoping to strike it lucky after being offered the chance to win a unique piece of derby day memorabilia being raffled by one of the club’s stars.

David Dunn is selling the black boots he wore in last season’s home clash with Burnley when his injury-time strike secured a dramatic 1-1 draw.

Trailing a goal down with only seconds remaining on the clock, the star netted the late leveller and preserved Rovers’ long unbeaten record against the Clarets.

With this season’s return fixture fast approaching, the Rovers ace has now decided to put the prized possession up for grabs.

Raffle tickets cost £10, with all proceeds to be split between Dunny’s three chosen charities – HYPE of Blackburn, The John Bury Trust and Prostate Cancer UK.

He said: “With the Burnley game just around the corner, I thought this would be a timely opportunity to give something back to the fans.

“Hopefully we can raise as much money as possible for three worthy causes, two of which are local charities that support local people.

“The idea behind holding a raffle is that it gives all Rovers fans an equal chance of winning and hopefully the boots will go to a home that gets as much pleasure from owning them as I did from scoring that goal.”

The draw will be made at the Bournemouth match on March 12.

Raffle tickets are available from the Roverstore at Ewood Park, Oneroverstore in Blackburn town centre, online via www.onerovers.co.uk and from the ticket office on 0871 222 1444 until Tuesday, March 11.

Biggest coward in the game is our David. He sh!t out like a little girl last time round, expect more of the same on March 9th.

Well he won't be needing them as seen as the pie guzzling sloth will be hiding behind his sofa like he was back in September.

I will certainly be getting a raffle ticket (if not a few more) as I collect Rovers memorabilia and am very much looking forward to the big game on 9th March!

Will the pie eater done even be starting the game?! Would of been better auctioning Sam vokes or Danny ings boots least people would be getting goalscorer of winning sides boots!

I don't understand it. Burnley's regular 35,000 plus away following and yet half the seats are empty in the image above. Dodgy camera I think.

The sequence of events I can see happening is if Blackburn aren't challenging by the 80th minute (ie have beaten Bolton and down against us), then Hanley will get frustrated and lump Ings, breaking his jaw and our season. Dunn scoring against us I just take as a given so can't see the point in auctioning these boots - there's plenty of other pairs available.

Is this just a random collection of words? You're not doing us any favours and strengthening the view that we're a bunch of inbred, dribbling neanderthals.

Your right about Dunns boots Tom, unfortunately he must a collection of them, I think he quite enjoys his pantomime villan role. I don't begrudge it him one bit either, since Jay moved on he'll be the only one on the field who really understands what the game means to the rest of us.
I know most of us love to hate him but in reality he's a decent local lad, who's lived our dream (just in the wrong shirt).

I know it's to raise money for charity but a tenner a ticket, really???
The other week after a Stanley game I saw a little lad coming away clutching on to a pair of goalie gloves like his life depended on it, Marcus Bettinelli had gone over to him after the game & handed them over - that's what I call giving something back to the fans
