A POLICE helicopter was used to trace an offender who attacked a man in Brunshaw Avenue, Burnley, at around 10.45pm on Tuesday.

The man was arrested under suspicion of grevious bodily harm with intent, and possession of cannabis, and remains in police custody.

A Lancashire Police spokeswoman said: “The victim was taken to Royal Blackburn Hospital with facial and head injuries, a serious ear injury and possible broken ribs. He is in a stable condition.”

My point is what makes this particular arrest any different or more newsworthy than all the others, the helicopter is used daily for such tasks, I guess I should have simply asked 'is it a slow newsday L.T? ... but never mind.
