A HEROIN addict working at Asda helped himself to three mobile phones, and some nail clippers, for drugs cash and was caught on CCTV, a court was told.
Burnley magistrates heard how Sajid Bashir, 36, had a conviction and a caution for shoplifting, as well as a record for drugs offences.
The defendant, who was asked to resign after he was found out, admitted theft by employee, to the value of £400.46, at the Burnley store, last December 15.
Bashir, of Hibson Road, Nelson, was given a 12-month conditional discharge.
Rachel Griffiths, defending, said Bashir had made a foolish decision. He had previously misused heroin, suffered a relapse last December, and had been struggling to cope.
