THE Catholic churches of Darwen will launch an Easter egg appeal in aid of Darwen Food Larder next week.
Parishioners at St Joseph’s and Sacred Heart St Edward’s churches in the town will be encouraged to donate eggs during Lent for children from families suffering hardship. The appeal starts on Wednesday and runs until just before Easter Sunday so eggs can be handed to the charity and given to struggling families in the town.
Anyone wishing to donate to the appeal can leave an egg at either of the churches throughout Lent.
