BLACKBURN with Darwen’s Casualty Reduction Team is running a free practical driving course for young people in the Audley and Queen’s Park area.

The course is specifically aimed at equipping young people with awareness, and appreciation, of road safety. It will involve a theory workshop, followed by off-road practical tuition in a controlled and safe environment.

Coun Maureen Bateson, executive member for regeneration, said: “It is a known fact that most car accidents occur in the early stages of motoring life and ,with car ownership increasing, it is a growing concern. This educational course aims to address these main causes in delivering both a theory and practical session, in order to understand how to spot, and avoid, potential dangers when driving.”
