RESIDENTS have complained about a dog in Beresford Road that they say is allowed out unaccompanied.
Shokat Chopat, who lives on the road, said: “It’s a big problem when the children are playing outside, and since the baby girl died, it’s made us more aware.”
Police confirmed that a complaint had been received but when they visited the dog, believed to be a Japanese Akita, was friendly on approach and not a banned breed.
Owner Soraya Parvaiz, 26, said the dog, called Jack, had only been out alone once. She said: “He is a very good dog, he’s a family dog, he’s 12 years old. He’s not vicious. The police have said he’s not a harmful dog.”
