A HOME care firm in Burnley said it has improved its clients’ care plans after minor concerns were raised by the Care Quality Commission.
The regulator said after a recent inspection of Allied Healthcare, based in Elm Street Business Park: “Four of the six care records that we looked at did not have sufficient instructions for staff about how people’s care and support should be delivered.”
But manager Caroline Holden said: “I now have two senior field care workers in post who on February 5 went on care plan risk assessment training in Manchester.
“This will enable me to have all care plans reviewed. The senior workers will then be identifying which care plans need to be updated with more in-depth detail.
“The senior staff will be arranging appointments with clients to do a home visit and discuss with clients information that will be relevant to their needs and this will then be compiled into a new plan.
“Care Plans will hold more information which will be relevant to the level of support that is required. They will detail a client’s routine for when care workers are there so this can be followed, enabling a more supported plan.”
