WAITING restrictions are to be introduced in Sunnyhurst Lane and Sunnyhurst, the road leading to Sunnyhurst Hey Reservoir, while work is carried out on reservoirs in the area.
United Utilities is to begin work on Sunnyhurst Hey and Earnsdale reservoirs in April.
The water supplier is to strengthen the embankment and upgrade pipework and valves at Earnsdale, while Sunnyhurst Hey, which is no longer needed for water supply, will be partially drained so it becomes a wetland area and moorland to be used by nature.
In the interests of safety, Blackburn with Darwen Council has announced waiting and loading restrictions in the roads leading up to the reservoirs.
The restrictions will be in place Monday to Saturday, from 8am to 6pm.
