PLANS for six houses on a car sales lot in urban Blackburn have caused a neighbour to fear access to the back of their property.

B and BE Boys Ltd of Waterfoot want to build the semi-deatched four-bedroomd homes on land next to Wensley Road.

They will all have gardens and private parking.

Their proposal will be considered by Blackburn with Darwen borough’s planning committee, chaired by Sunnyhurst Labour councillor Dave Smith, tonight.

Officials have told the committee that the proposed site is an open parcel of land currently used for car sales.

Most of it is either tarmacced of landscaped.

The councillors have to consider the planning application because neighbour Mrs E M Sharples has sent a letter of objection into the borough.

She says the final version of the scheme fails to meet the company’s promises to make sure there is a paved path giving access to the back of her property.

Mrs Sharples says there is ‘hardly any space between my gable end and the proposed banking for me to carry out any maintenance of clean to landing window’.

Planning officials advise the committee the housing development is appropriate to the inner urban area of Blackburn.

They recommend the councillors approve the application.
