A MAN was run over during a road rage incident in Brierfield.

Two motorists got into an argument in the town which ended in a confrontation, with a 36-year-old man from Barrowford being hit by the other vehicle, sustaining minor injuries to his back and leg.

Police are now appealing for witnesses who may have seen the incident, which took place during rush hour, to come forward.

It happened in Glen Way, at around 6.15pm on Thursday, January 23.

The driver of a black Audi A3 has driven at low speed at the driver of a Jaguar after he stopped his car to speak with him.

The victim has landed on the bonnet of the Audi and has been carried for several yards before being thrown off, at which point the Audi has then driven off.

The incident stemmed from an earlier verbal argument between the two drivers on Church Hill Way.

PC Matthew Hartup said he wanted people who had witnessed the incident to get in touch.

“This incident has taken place on a busy road during rush hour so I am confident somebody will have witnessed it,” he said.

“It would appear both drivers had been involved in an earlier altercation which has continued onto Glen Way.

“Fortunately the victim has not been seriously injured but anyone with information should contact Lancashire Police on 101.”

A 29 year old man from Colne has been interviewed by police in relation to this incident.
