A WIND turbine in a rural area of Burnley has been allowed by a planning inspector on appeal as it would not unduly harm the landscape.
Plans by Catja Schmitgen for a 15-metre high feature, at Foulds House, off Halifax Road, Briercliffe, were rejected by the borough’s development control department.
But an inspector considered that the ‘rolling topography’ of the countryside, and the presence of buildings, pylons, trees and hedges, would minimise its impact.
